Do you know how to calm a crying baby or how to handle a conflict between two children? What do we do if a child has a tummy ache? Learn how to help kids have fun, while keeping them safe and following household rules with Babysitter's Training from the American Red Cross. Designed for students ages 11 and older, this training provides the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for infants and children up to the age of 10, as well as to manage a babysitting business. Skills taught include how to respond to emergencies with first aid and rescue breathing (CPR certification is not part of this class), making good decisions under pressure, communicating effectively with parents, and feeding, diapering, and caring for infants. A materials fee of $17 must be paid to the instructor at the beginning of the class. Bring a sack lunch to class.
