Drama in the North Woods, On June 1-August 4, 2013, The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis is doing Clybourne Park, a Pulitzer Prize-winning satiric comedy by Bruce Norris, picking up on race relations in the Chicago house of the Younger family since Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun of 1959. In Act I a Black family moves into a white neighborhood in 1959; in Act II it is 2009, gentrification has set in, and the roles are reversed. We will read and discuss the play and related poetry, and as many as possible see it, too
