Learning how to craft a wood-fired earth oven is a great way to create community wellness through fresh baked artisan foods and natural building. Clay, sand, fiber and water are traditional building materials used by cultures in Wisconsin and around the world. Be prepared to dive into the subject matter with bare hands and feet. Your instructor, Amorin Mello, is a permaculture activist and natural builder who teaches earth oven classes for a variety of folk schools and colleges in Wisconsin. He has worked on natural building projects nationwide and is a resource for those who are creating their own natural homes. Please meet at the Bayfield School garden and bring lunch, water, sunscreen, dress for the weather and a $15 optional book fee payable to instructor.
